Pumpkin Bread

Pumpkin Bread

2 2/3 C sugar
2/3 C shortening

2 C pumpkin
2/3 C water
4 eggs

3 1/2 C flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp baking powder

2/3 C coarsely chopped nuts

Oven to 350.  Grease and flour bottom of 2 loaf pans, 9x5x3 or 2 loaf pans, 8.5x4.5x2.5.

Mix first two ingredients.

Stir in next three ingredients.

Stir in next group of ingredients.

Stir in nuts.

Pour into pans and bake until passes the toothpick test, about 1 hour and 10 minutes.  Cool 5 minutes.  Loosen sides of loaves from pans and remove.
