Beth's Lemon Tea Bread

Beth's Lemon Tea Bread

1/2 C butter, soft
1 C sugar

2 eggs
1 lemon, zested

1 1/2 C flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

1/2 C milk

Oven to 350.  Grease 9x5 loaf pan.

Cream butter and sugar.

Add eggs and zest.

Combine flour, powder, salt.

Add dry alternately with milk to butter/sugar mixture.

Bake 50-60 minutes until passes the toothpick test.  Don't over-bake!

Cool 10 minutes, then remove from pan.

Can be glazed with 1/2 C powdered sugar mixed with lemon juice.
