Miss Barkley's Harvard Beets

1/2 C sugar
1 Tb cornstarch
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 C water
1/4 C vinegar
2 tb butter

Mix all ingredients together well.  Add cooked, sliced beets, stir and heat until desired temperature.
